In a copywriting seminar, we were tasked with creating an imaginary business, exploring places where copy could be useful to create a specific atmosphere.
Bohemian Grove is named for the campsite famous its elite clientele. It's a bar where every patron gets to feel powerful enough to be a part of a high-level government conspiracy.
FRONT DOOR
Cremate your cares, those who enter.
Low-jinx ensue.
While this bar is not so secret as a traditional speak-easy, the only signage is this cryptic display on the front door, adding a tone of mystery.
THE OATH
I shall protect the secrets I learn tonight, as well as the bodies of my brothers and sisters. I shall seek merriment above all.
The Oath hangs behind the bouncer, and patrons are required to swear it as they enter.
TIME CAPSULE
This spoof on the controversial time capsule in the Denver Airport contains conspiracy theory easter eggs for the true believers. It is a decor piece in the center of the bar.
